About Murcia International Airport ( RMU )

Murcia Airport, also known as Región de Murcia International Airport or Corvera Airport, is a modern airport located in southeastern Spain. The airport serves the city of Murcia, as well as the surrounding region of Murcia and the Costa Calida.

The airport was opened in January 2019 and replaced the old Murcia-San Javier Airport. It is located about 25 kilometers (16 miles) south of Murcia city center and about 30 kilometers (19 miles) north of the coastal city of Cartagena. The airport is easily accessible by car via the AP-7 motorway and there are also several bus services that connect the airport with nearby cities and towns.

Murcia Airport has a single terminal building with two levels. The ground floor is where you will find arrivals, baggage claim, car rental desks, and transportation options. The upper level is where departures are located, with check-in counters, security checkpoints, and a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes.

AREAS TO VISIT

By car to Los Alcázares…

To drive from Murcia International Airport (RMU) to Los Alcázares, you’ll want to exit the airport and follow signs for the RM-19 motorway. Once on the motorway, you’ll want to continue straight until you reach the exit for the RM-F30, which will be on your right. Take this exit and follow the road until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto the RM-F33, following signs for Los Alcázares. Continue straight on this road for a few kilometers until you reach the town of Los Alcázares.

Once in Los Alcázares, you’ll find that the town is relatively small and easy to navigate. The main road running through the town is the Avenida de la Libertad, which will take you past many of the town’s shops, restaurants, and attractions. Depending on your final destination in Los Alcázares, you may need to turn off onto one of the smaller side streets to reach your destination.

Overall, the drive from Murcia International Airport to Los Alcázares should take you around 20-25 minutes, depending on traffic and any stops you make along the way.
