The Costa Calida area boasts over 20 golf courses, many of which are championship-level and designed by renowned golfers. The courses offer a range of challenges, from wide open fairways to narrow and demanding holes, and are set against a backdrop of stunning scenery, including the Mediterranean Sea, mountains, and palm groves. The warm and sunny weather of the region makes golfing possible throughout the year. 

The Costa Calida is a great destination for cycling enthusiasts. The region offers a variety of scenic routes, from coastal roads to mountainous terrain, with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding landscape. The mild climate of the area makes cycling possible all year round, with average temperatures ranging from 15°C in winter to 30°C in summer. 

The mud baths are a popular attraction due to their reputed health benefits. The mud is rich in minerals, including calcium, magnesium, and potassium, which are said to have therapeutic properties for the skin and joints. Visitors can apply the mud to their skin and leave it to dry before washing it off in the warm waters of the Mar Menor, a saltwater lagoon. 

The Parque Regional de Salinas y Arenales is a protected natural park that covers an area of over 800 hectares. The park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including flamingos, herons, and other bird species, as well as a variety of plant life. The park is also known for its salt flats, which have been used for salt production for over a thousand years. Visitors can explore the park on foot or by bike.

The Costa Calida has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean. The coastline stretches over 250 km, and there are many beaches to choose from, ranging from quiet and secluded coves to bustling tourist spots. The beaches are known for their crystal-clear waters, golden sands, and excellent facilities, including showers, changing rooms, and beach bars. Many of the beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag certification.

While Los Alcazares is not known for its buzzing nightlife, there are still plenty of enjoyable activities to engage in during the evening hours. Terra Mitica is a popular choice for thrill-seekers, with its roller coasters and other adrenaline-pumping rides inspired by the ancient world. Aqualandia, on the other hand, is a water park with a range of slides, wave pools, and other aquatic attractions. For animal lovers, there’s Mundomar, which features a variety of marine animals and exotic birds, as well as dolphin and sea lion shows. Additionally, there’s Terra Natura, a zoo that showcases animals from around the world.

The cuisine of the Costa Calida region in Spain is heavily influenced by its coastal location and the local produce of the Murcia region. Seafood, rice dishes, and fresh vegetables are all staples of the cuisine in this area. One of the most famous dishes is the caldero, a hearty fish stew made with rockfish, potatoes, garlic, and paprika. Another popular dish is the arroz a banda, a rice dish made with fish broth, saffron, and a variety of seafood.
